The director of the dancer recalls Ana de Armas’s shock after turning on a man on fire with a flamethrower for the first time

When it comes to action cinema, there is pretending and imagination, and then in reality there is on fire.

For Ana de Armasthe line between the two blurred in a very real way during the filming of Dancernext John Wick spin off. As a director Len Wiseman Revealed, the moment in which De Armas for the first time illuminated an acrobatia with a flamefiamme, broke out in tears.

Wiseman recently spoke with a small group of journalists during a long -term press event this spring and shared the wild story behind the scenes. While most cinematographic weapons are all smoke and no puncture, the flames are in a league in their own right. There is simply a real fire, and the dancer does not. Wiseman said:

“They are frightening in such a fun way. I tried it and the amount of power that feels behind it. And I remember, I tried it before so that I can tell Ana that it is safe and I did it.

“And I received a relationship and the boys were testing with her when he actually had to test someone on fire. And the first attempt, he cried because he is horrible, do you know?”

And who could blame it? Even if the person who came on fire was a highly qualified acrobatics, it is not exactly a normal day of work to intentionally swallow someone on fire, especially when they shout in front of you.

Wiseman recalled that once De Armas passed the initial shock, his nerves have given way to trust. He spoils himself in chaos like a professional.

“And then later, it was really down with it, really fantastic,” he said. “He inflamed, as, I don’t even remember how many people. But imagine that you are testing him and flaming someone and are screaming in front of you and you are lighting them. It’s a race. It’s traumatic.”

The fury of the Flamethrower, present in the trailer of Ballerina, is just one of the many brutal and ballet pieces that should call this John Wick Offshoot.

De Armas plays in Eve Macarro, a dancer transformed into Assassin for revenge and, by all the accounts, is going to the round.

Dancer Opens in cinemas on June 6 and presents a stacked cast including Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedusdelay Lance ReddickAnd of course, Keanu Reeves.

So, I hope you are enthusiastic to see Ana de Armas brandish a lamp and a bad torch with ballet precision!
