Benjamin Bratt It was officially joined to the Star Wars Universe enters the iconic role of Bail organ in Andor Season 2, a character who has long been played by Jimmy Smits.

Bratt’s debut arrives in episode 6, “what a festive evening”, in which the senator briefly interacts with Mon Mothma and her husband, Perrin, during a political evening.

The Smits originated Bail Organa in Clone attack (2002) and resumed the role through Rogue One, Obi-Wan Kenobiand even The force sparked video game. So, entering that role is no small task and Bratt knows it. Speaking with Starwars.com, he shared the reason why he hired it:

“We learn that it is a brilliant strategist and capable of bringing some heat to the extent that it is necessary. This is what excited me and attracted me to play the character.”

While the appearance in episode 6 is short, Bratt’s performance continues the legacy of a character who was a peaceful force in the first days of rebellion, and was not shy in recognizing the shoes in which he was entering, offering a heartfelt praise to his predecessor:

“Him [Smits] It has elegance, a natural grace, a really goodness, a seriousness that this particular character requires. “

The passage in the actors did not concern a change in the direction, it simply turned to logistics. According to the creator of the series Tony GilroySmits was not available due to programming conflicts.

“The programming did not work. We really tried, but it was not available and you don’t pay it.

Bratt also spoke of the tone and consistency of Gilroy’s narrative, noting that Andor Makes a balance between gloomy and confident:

“It is very free despite being incredibly elaborate … [The show] Keeps you confident. This is the essence of the good narrative … the human spirit cannot be extinct. “

Bratt joins a strong cast that includes Diego Luna, Kyle Ricco, Adria ArjonaAND Forest Whitaker. While it would have been nice to see the Smits in the role, Bratt did an excellent job. The question is: who will play the character in the future if it must be incorporated into a future story?
