Jon Hamm He is not giving up his dream of adapting to the Marvel cinema universe. Despite years of almost left -handed and conversations of hope, the Mad Men Star is still throwing the hat on the superhero ring.
In a recent chat with the screen, Hamm was asked again on the MCU again and if something was finally going on. His response was sincere and a little exasperated:
“I don’t know. Honestly I don’t know. Nobody knows what’s going on in the secret world of that company.”
But this does not mean that he has given up on hope.
“I know I have a lot of … I have a lot of appreciation for that world, so I hope it’s reciprocated. Why not me?”
It is a right question. Hamm has gravitas, charisma and fandom credentials. Over the years he has clarified that he is a true fan of comics and wishes to take action.
The fans were not calm about it, since there has been a buzz for a long time on the fact that it is perfect for characters such as Mister Sinister, one of the bad guys from the world of X-Men.
This is not a recent development since Hamm has actively pursued Marvel for a while. Last summer, SIAD:
“I launched myself for a couple of parts of the Marvel universe, I don’t want to say what exactly, but it was part of a comic that I really liked. So maybe it will work.”
Marvel casting wheels are notoriously slow and incredibly secret, which probably did not help the Hamm campaign. But what makes it even more frustrating for fans is to know how close once it was.
In 2022, Hamm shared that it was originally had to appear in the post-Credit scene of The new mutants As Mister Sinister, but it never happened.
“I have never shot anything. I remember having had a conversation with people. So I was enthusiastic about being considered. But these conversations happen and then life intervenes.”
Hamm is not clearly renouncing his dream, and with Marvel who enters a new era, introducing fresh faces and shaking his list, perhaps it is time for Hamm to give Hamm.
Honestly, why not him?
