TO Star Wars Celebration JapanLucasfilm officially pulled the tent back Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lorda new animated series that collects the story of Maul a year after the events of The clone wars.
This will give fans a deeper dip in the mind of a man consumed by anger, revenge and loss. If you hoped in an arc of redemption for Darth Maul, you will be seriously disappointed.
IGN has reached Sam Witwerwhich once lends once his voice and emotional depth, to the former Sith preferred by fans. And from its sound, Maul is more broken and dangerous than ever.
Witwer explained: “Maul comes from a moment of magic … now he is seeing an empire that he knew he was coming and the magic and color are sucked into the universe. How do you feel about it?
“This different from what he expected and how do you feel that it strikes him? What does he want to do about it, and he can? It is not very equipped right now. So this is a guy who is trying to understand what his destiny is.”
At this point in the life of Maul, his brother Savage disappeared, his mother Talzin disappeared and every strategic alliance he built during the clone wars crumbled. Add to this Ahsoka who lowers his request to help to stop Anakin and, by extension, Palpatine and what has remained to you is a man stripped of a purpose, grab something to control. That something, it turns out, will evolve into Crimson Dawn, the criminal empire seen in Alone AND Star Wars Outlaws.
Witwer makes him crystalline: Maul is not traveling to the light.
“He is a bad guy in this show. Our show is bad against worst guys, so Maul is as bad as before, somehow even worse.”
Witwer has also made fun of that Maul will take on a new apprentice, someone who has described as “enough something”. While the details are still in compresses, the trailer shown to the celebration of Star Wars has mentioned a twisted tutoring that will probably echeck the dark education of Maul under Svious.
