Superman Prequel Nowle Welcome to Metropolis Drops this June and could have clues about the future of the DCU

Before James Gunn’S Superman The big screen is striking this July, DC fans will preview in the first days of Man of Steel in a new prequel novel entitled Superman: Welcome to Metropolislanding in bookstores on June 3.

They are only 144 pages long, so it is not a long reading and it is aimed at younger readers, but this does not mean that the older fans should jump it. This could be the first belly bread on the path towards understanding what DCU of Gunn has in store.

The novel, published by Penguin Random House, follows a young Clark Kent just as he is settling in Metropolis, juggling his concert at the Daily Planet and Moonlighting as, well … the first superhero in the world. And yes, there are already problems preparing with a certain bald genius.

It is designed to set the ground, to introduce readers on the atmosphere of Metropolis, making fun of the role of Lex Luthor in history and letting us live alongside Clark during those first embarrassing days of heroism and coffee races. You can bet that fans will take care of hidden details on Gunn’s great reboot.

The legend of the comics Mark Waid has recently shared some powerful thoughts that underline why Superman’s stories now count more than ever.

“I think that with all the ongoing turmoil, I think there is a sense of terror that is an underground current for every moment of our life, even if we make it or not.

“And Superman is always the symbol of hope. Superman is always the symbol of what we can achieve if we put together, what we can do if we empathize.”

“What can we do if we make kindness a virtue rather than a weakness,” added Waid. “And I think you talk to many people right now. Certainly he speaks to me.”
