The retro trailer of this week is from the 1982 thriller 1984 classA gritty and provocative exploitation thriller that explores the violent clash between authority and youth rebellion in an urban school system in decomposition.
The film follows Andrew Norris, an idealist and mild music teacher who moved to Lincoln High, a school afflicted by group violence, drugs and fear. Norris quickly finds herself in contrast with a ruthless student band led by the intelligent but psychotic Peter Stegman.
While the behavior of the students intensifies from harassment to brutal criminal acts, Norris is pushed to his rupture point, forced to abandon his principles in the desperate attempt to survive and fight.
The film comes from direct from Mark L. LesterAnd it mixes social comments with exaggerated violence and punk-rock energy, painting a desolate portrait of crazy youth and a system incapable or unwilling to stop them.
