Ben Affleck says he lost interest in superhero movies and even his son was afraid of his Batman

Ben Affleck He never held out when he comes to talking about his time in Cape and Cowl, and in a new cover story of the GQ, he opens even more about why everything went to the side. From the disallination expectations to personal struggles, it is clear that Affleck’s Batman era left a mark, but not in the type that some fans hoped.

Affleck said: “There are a series of reasons why it was a truly excruciating experience, and they do not all have to deal with the simple dynamics of, for example, to be in a superhero film or other.

“I am not interested in going down that particular genre again, not because of that bad experience, but only: I lost interest in what I was interested in for me. But certainly I would not like to replicate such experience.

“Much was misalignment for agendas, understandings, expectations. And even by the way, I was not bringing something particularly wonderful to that equation at that moment. I had my failures, my significant failures, in that process and at that moment.”

I think that Bruce Wayne older and tired of the world of Affleck promised, and says it is still based on that creative idea. But things started to reveal when the tone of DC films started moving from the general public.

The actor explained: “What happened was to start distorting too much for most of the audience. As my son at the time he was too frightened to watch the film. And so when I saw that I was like” Oh shit, we have a problem “.

“Then I think it was then that you had a director who wanted to continue on that road and a study that wanted to regain all the younger audience for crossed purposes. Then you have two entities, two people who really want to do something different and this is a really bad recipe.”

The clash between the vision and expectations of the public is not new in superhero films, but for Affleck it has been particularly chaotic. Previously he is called to work Justice League “The worst experience” and is now more sincere on his role in the casino.

“I mean, my failures as an actor, you can watch the various films and judge,” he said Affleck. “But more than my failures, in terms of why I had a bad experience, part of it is that what I was bringing every day was a lot of unhappiness.

“So I was not bringing a lot of positive energy to the equation. I didn’t cause problems, but I entered and I did my job and I went home. But you have to do a little better than that.”

Now at the helm of his production company, Equity Artists, Affleck says he is trying to build something that avoids the problems that have afflicted his Batman period.

“I want to put together partnerships and filmmakers and cast and a studio apparatus aligned, where precisely that type of misalignment does not happen and you have a much better work experience.”

Affleck can be made with superhero films, but he is also saying that he has finished with chaos and bad communication in the cinematographic process and wants to make it a better experience for all the subjects involved.
