Sony is preparing for a new one Astronavi soldiers Film, and this time they are taking the director Neill Blomkamp(District 9, ElysiumAND Chappie) to write and direct.
The version of the Blomkamp film will return to the original 1959 novel by Robert A. Heinlein for inspiration. The story follows Johnny RicoA young soldier in the futuristic mobile infantry, a highly advanced military unit equipped with powered exoskeletons.
While humanity plays the war against insectoids arachnids, the novel explores militarism themes, civic responsibilities and ethics of war. It is a politically dense and political story that has been discussed and analyzed over the years.
Blomkamp is an excellent choice for this project and I am excited to see how the material manages. Given the story of Blomkamp to mix social comments with gritty and engaging science fiction, it seems the right solution for work.
Over the years he has been attacked to several exciting cinematographic projects such as Halo, Alien 5AND RobocopBut none of those ended up taking off. I hope it does it.
