Actor Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Twisters) signed to act in the cinematographic adaptation of The natural order to Universal. The film is made by the director Barry Jenkins (If Beale Street could speak, Moonlight, Mufasa: The Lion King), and is based on Matt Aldrich’s next science fiction novel.
The details are kept under casing, but the tone has been billed as a high science fiction thriller that revolves around the search for eternal life. Jenkins and Aldrich will adapt to Aldrich’s unpublished manuscript.
The project marks the first film Powell and Dan Cohen will produce for their new Barnstorm company with its first agreement at Universal, which began last month. In addition, Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak will produce under the pastel banner they share with Jenkins.
The professionals say that Jenkins, Powell and Aldrich have developed the film for some time and recently brought it to the market.
