Derrickson recently talked about the film with Gamesradar+ and when he was asked about the aesthetics of the video games of the film he said: “I love those games and I think the game put the pistol action bar, especially if you are really with a single character or two characters, you cannot beat it. ”
The film is the protagonist Miles Teller AND Anya Taylor-JuyAnd it follows two elite snies stationed on separate canvas that overlook a mysterious canyon.
While the night falls, they discover the horrors lurking below, transforming their tactical mission into a desperate struggle for survival. At the beginning, echoes the intensity of the shooter games like OverwatchBut while the story takes place, it relies on terror and tension of silent Hill AND The last of us.
Derrickson also explains that he was not just interested in creating a high -level action show. He wanted something more, something that would bring the story back from the usual fare of the genre.
“I think the challenge of the film did not let him fall only in the straight and chaotic stimulus of the action of the type of game. The challenge was to have that type of stimulus and power and really use it, but then really keep alive romanticism. “
Derrickson continued to talk about mixing things, saying: “I don’t want to continue seeing the same film to be made, you know, or versions of the same films that are made.
“I think streaming is a place where you can really dare to be different because you don’t have that box office pressure every weekend in which people will decide if your movie is a failure based on returning to the box office.”
The film is previewed today on Apple TV+ on February 14, 2025.
