Ralph Macchio It has been in some fantastic films over the years, such as Strangers AND My cousin VinnyBut it seems that he will be increasingly linked to his role of Daniel Larusso in Karate Kid Franchising and is happy to carry on the inheritance.
Macchio starred in the first three films that each one was released in the 80s, then after almost three decades, the series Cobra Kai He was released, who brought together the two stars of the film, Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).
Although Pat MoritaWho played Mr. Miyagi in the franchise, died in 2005 and was unable to see the success of the series, the creators of Macchio and the show made sure to pay homage to the character in truly special ways.
Macchio is about to see the series wrap with the final episodes of Cobra Kai broadcast at the end of this week, but the Karate Kid Legacy continues in the next movie Karate Kid: Legends. The actor spoke of the inheritance of the franchise in a recent interview with Gamesradar, where he said:
“During the Cobra Kai series, there were those moments of mentor, those parenting moments. So paying the pointed striker is a kind of part of what Daniel Larusso now is an adult and will be in the Karate Kid Legends film when The end of May will be released.
“Really enthusiastic about that other chapter within the Grand Universe of sharing stories. But for Cobra Kai, where he focuses now, it was a question of landing that plane in this, you know, big, winning and are super proud of it. “
In the new film, Daniel once again takes on the role of Sensei, this time joining Jackie Chanwho resumes his role from the restart of Karate Kid by Jaden Smith, training the subsequent Karate Kid (Ben Wangwhich was chosen through a search for talents all over the world).
In a sense, Macchio is entering the role of Mr. Miyagi, who says Macchio would have been immensely proud of Cobra Kai and where the franchise is located today.
“I think it would have been the first in line with and bought popcorn for everyone. I really do it. His character has always been very important for me that he was woven in the Cobra Kai series.
That was the first day when this was launched. I said, I need it in order not to be forgotten because without that, nothing of this exists, which means that character of Miyagi and that performance on his part. So I like to honor those who are no longer with us who have helped, create this franchise “.
Macchio continues: “And I think, I guess I would say a responsibility, but I am proud to insure me, or at least make my voice heard, of the importance of that in honor of them. I would like to believe that he is proud of me for that part. “
Cobra Kai Season 6 part 3 hits Netflix on February 13th. Karate Kid: Legends It affects cinemas on May 30th.
