Miramax is developing a remake of the 1998 science fiction film The facultyAND Robert Rodriguezwho directed the original film, will produce the remake.
The screenplay of the film is being developed Drew Hancockwho recently made his debut film with his new filmmate, who wrote and directed.
Kevin Williamson (Cry) wrote the original film and the story follows a group of high school students of the Herrington High who suspect that their teachers and classmates have been detected by parasitic alien creatures.
While discovering the invasion, an unprepared group that includes the rebel Zeke (Josh Hartnett), shy casey (Elia Wood), Goth Loner Stokely (Clea Duvall) and Cheerleader Delilah (Jordana Brewster) Bands together to fight.
They discover that parasites are controlling people through water consumption and that killing the alien queen will free the infected ones.
Rodriguez more recently directed Spy Kids: Armageddon for Netflix and the Ben Affleck thriller Hypnotic. His other credits include Boba Fett’s book, Predators, El mariachi, From twilight to dawn AND Sin City.
