New rumors claim that the Russo brothers have eliminated the script of AVENGERS 5 by Michael Waldron and new update on the role of Daredevil DOOMSDAY

The next two Avengers films have gone through a few different iterations over the past couple of years. They were originally supposed to be released back-to-back with Jeff Loveness (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) write The Kang Dynasty and Michael Waldron (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) in charge Secret Wars.

But with Kang actor Jonathan Majors being fired due to his legal troubles, future films have taken a hit, as have the creators tasked with moving them forward.

Both Loveness and Waldron were removed from their roles as writers, although Waldron was assigned to rewrite what became “Avengers 5.”

With the return of the directors Joe and Antonio Russo and writer Stephen McFeely turning the fifth adventure film into Avengers: Judgment Daywhere the highly anticipated Robert Downey Jr. will take on the role of main villain Doctor Doom, some have wondered how many of the original writers’ ideas will be included in the two parts.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman (via CBM), the Russos completely discarded Waldron’s script and story for Avengers: Judgment Day. Everything was rewritten from scratch and this explains the recent rumors of a small delay in finishing the script in time for filming to begin this spring.

This not only means that Doom didn’t simply replace Kang in the story, but it should please those who were dissatisfied with Waldron’s previous work in the MCU; there’s a whole section of the fanbase unhappy with him vilifying Scarlet Witch, for example.

Richtman also says so in his recent report Charlie Cox will have a minor role as Daredevil Avengers: Judgment Day. The Man Without Fear has never been a team player, so this isn’t entirely shocking. It’s nice that he’s making an appearance though.

Avengers: Judgment Day will be released in May 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars expected arrival in May 2027.
