John Cena Teases PEACEMAKER Season 2 Intro Dance “Everyone Was So Excited This Time”

One of the best and most unexpected parts of James Gunnthe exaggerated DC series, Peacemakerwas the opening sequence, which featured Giovanni CenaPeacemaker and his co-stars perform a synchronized dance to Wig Wam’s “Do You Wanna Taste It”.

As the show heads into its second season, it’s been revealed that Gunn’s cast is upping the ante, and we’ll be getting a new choreographed song and dance intro.

Cena spoke to Collider about the new moves, which were choreographed by Commando of creatures star Alan Tudykthe wife of Charissa Barton. Cena first said of the original dance:

“I would say that shooting the dance number in the first season, even though it was written in the script the whole time, so I knew months later that we were shooting it, you were still scratching your head, like, ‘Is this it? Are you going to work?'”

Instead of feeling the weight of expectations, however, Cena said the overwhelming response was invigorating for everyone while performing the new introduction.

The enthusiasm is part of what he thinks makes Christopher Smith’s new number a worthy successor to “Do You Wanna Taste It,” along with everyone’s general understanding that dance is such an important part of the music. Peacemakerthe identity of.

“Then when it became a big part of the show, I think everyone was really excited this time, and I really think it’s going to show. I’m very happy about it. I want to say a lot more, but I don’t know, I’ll just say I’m very happy with it.

“Everyone was super excited and also understood how important it is this time, and I really hope it proves itself. I know the show is great. In my mind, the opening number is fantastic. I hope the world agrees.”

While the actors are tasked with learning the moves, Cena adds that “It takes a village” to pull them off Peacemaker introduction. From creator and showrunner Gunn to cinematographers, editors, composers and beyond, everyone has a crucial role to play in bringing the project to life.

Creating entertaining openings that viewers want to see, in Cena’s eyes, also serves as a way to ensure that the names of all key players are in front of viewers’ eyes:

“It’s just a nice way to introduce everyone and also give credit to everyone. Hats off to James Gunn. It takes a village and, man, we have so many heroes behind the camera.

“They should tip too. So, it’s a great way to thank everyone for putting a lot of effort into making something good.”

Peacemaker Season 2 will debut on Max this August.
