Sigourney Weaver’s mysterious role in THE MANDALORIAN & GROGO revealed

Sigourney Weaver was a cornerstone of science fiction starring in films such as Alien, GhostbustersAND Avatars. So, it was exciting for fans to learn that he’s heading to a galaxy far, far away in the next Star Wars movie The Mandalorian and Grogu.

While Lucasfilm has kept her role well under wraps, a recent report suggests we may finally know who she’ll be playing.

During a previous interview, Weaver confirmed her involvement, saying, “I’m playing a role in The Mandalorian & Grogu [which will be directed by Jon Favreau]. I met Grogu for the first time the other day. I’m shooting it before I go to London for The Tempest at the end of the year.”

While he didn’t share any details, industry insider Jeff Sneider recently released an intriguing detail claiming that Weaver is rumored to be playing a New Republic colonel named Bishop.

James Cameron fans Aliens will immediately recognize the name as a reference to Lance Henriksen’s android (or “artificial person”) from the film.

There is a twist to his character, though, so if you don’t want to know what it is, just know that there are possible SPOILERS ahead.

Sneider teases that Weaver’s character may not be a true hero. Reports suggest he will have a minor role, but there’s a twist: Colonel Bishop may turn out to be a traitor.

Jon Favreau he’s directing the movie and will bring it back Pedro Pasquale as Din Djarin. In the meantime, The bear star Jeremy Allen White he is confirmed to play Rotta the Hutt, Jabba’s son.

As for the main antagonist, rumors indicate The Clone Wars the bounty hunter Embo, although Lucasfilm has not yet confirmed this.

The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026.
