Over the years, a Hulk vs. Wolverine the film has been talked about among fans without much real substance or hard facts to back it up.
But over the past few months we’ve been hearing more and more about this project, and today there’s a new rumor from leaker @Cryptic4KQual who’s shared some additional insights into this long-awaited battle and what it could mean for both the mutant saga and the alleged ones Avengers vs. X-Men movie.
The source said:
“I’ve been told that the next Hulk movie will most likely not be a [Hulk vs. Wolverine] movie. Instead, Doomsday or Secret Wars will likely plant the seeds, giving us a small fight in the first round and a full brawl later on.
“I was told that there was talk of a [Hulk vs. Wolverine] movie, but it’s more likely to happen during the Mutant Saga if they’re 100% going to make it. There would also be a deeper reasoning for the clash to take place. It wouldn’t be a stupid money grab just for people to come see a fight.”
Finally, the scoop notes:
“This also connects [Avengers vs. X-Men]. We’ll probably get a preview of this in Doomsday or Secret Wars and much later, we’ll get a full version of it. [Avengers vs. X-Men] political war. At least, that’s what I feel.”
It seems the plan is for the Mutant Saga to build to a full-blown war between the Avengers and the X-Men, an event film that could easily rival Secret Wars.
While we still expect the heroes of Earths-616 and 10005 to come to blows before the end of the Multiverse saga, it’s a smart move to save this war for the next stages of the narrative.
Jackman would definitely be on board, and it seems like it would be a good place to build upon once this phase is over.
Do you hope to see this battle end in the future of the MCU?
