Armie Hammer He seems to be making a comeback with smaller, low-budget films and is now ready to star Uwe Bullthe latest film project by The Dark Knight.
No, this is obviously not a Batman movie, but Hammer will be playing a crime-fighting vigilante and the film is clearly inspired by Batman.
As you may recall, Hammer was cast as Batman in George Miller’s unproduced film Justice League: Deadly film in 2009.
The film is based on an original screenplay by Boll, and in the story, Hammer plays Sanders, “who takes justice into his own hands as he sets out to hunt down criminals.
“As his crusade transforms him into a social media phenomenon and a hero in the eyes of the public, the local police chief sees him as a threat to society and aims to eliminate him.”
Boll said in a statement: “The story of The Dark Knight couldn’t be a more timely topic and I’m thrilled to bring it to life with this excellent cast.”
Executive producer Michael Roesch was keen to underline that “our film is very different from Chris Nolan’s, so there is no danger of confusion”.
“With Armie Hammer in the lead role and other great actors to be announced soon, and with an exceptional script, we are excited to build on the great response we have gotten for First round AND Runand soon we will have another strong film.
Hammer saw his career derail in 2021 following allegations of sexual misconduct. He recently returned to work in westerns Frontier cruciblewho is also the protagonist Thomas Jane AND William H. Macy.
In a recent podcast interview, Hammer said that his acting career has grown so much that he has started turning down jobs. She said: “My dance book is getting pretty full. That first job I turned down after four years of this shit, I mean, it was the best feeling I’ve ever had.
You’d think that starring in an Uwe Boll film would be a step in the wrong direction for a career comeback.
The Dark Knight marks Boll’s 37th film. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in Croatia on January 27.
