Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN: PART II release date moved from 2026 to 2027

Warner Bros. has made some release date changes for some of its next big movie projects, including Matt Reeves’ Batman: Part IIwhich is postponed by a whole year.

The original release date was October 2, 2026, but was moved to October 1, 2027. Production on the film has not begun, and one of the most recent updates we have received from James Gunn the film’s script has not yet been delivered.

Reeves recently confirmed this, saying, “Yes, we’re finishing the script. We will shoot next year.”

Batman’s star Zoe Kravitz he also praised Reeves for his meticulous approach, stating: “You are an incredibly meticulous director. I just asked you how your writing is going [‘Part II’] and you said, “Slow,” and I think that’s a wonderful quality, because you care so much.

Reeves explained the pace of his creative process, explaining, “The thing is, for me I feel like it’s not a choice. I always feel like I would never do it the way I’m doing it, except it’s the only way I know how to do it.

He went on to describe writing and filmmaking as navigating a dark room. “Everything you need is in the room, but there are no lights and you’re on your hands and knees. And when something connects with you, you say, “Oh, that’s something.”

So although we will have to wait longer to see Batman: Part II in theaters, we know it will live up to the high standards fans want from a Batman film.

Taking over The Batman The sequel, October 2, 2026, is the untitled film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu with Tom Cruise.

That film follows the most powerful man in the world as he embarks on a frantic mission to prove himself as humanity’s savior before the disaster he unleashed destroys everything.

Bong Joon Ho AND Robert Pattinson’S Mickey Mouse 17 was moved to March 7 in Imax, while Ryan Coogler AND Michael B. Jordan’S Sinners will also be released on April 18th on Imax screens. Those two films have reversed release dates.
