Tons of movie buffs went to see Evil in the last month, and those who have enjoyed it are in good company. The hit musical was a huge success at the box office, by the standards of fans and the director George Lucas he had high praise for Evil director Jon M. Chu as a fellow director.
Chu recently told CBS Mornings that the beloved Star Wars director George Lucas cold-called him for being excited about the film:
“He was still at the mall where he had just seen the movie. He couldn’t have been nicer. He says, “I see all the elements in that movie.” I know how hard it is to put it all together.” It’s so nice when you see leaders like that, creative leaders who actually achieve goals. I didn’t know this happened and I’m kind enough to say we’ll do it together.
It’s really nice to hear the opinion of a director of his caliber, as a fan of the film you made. What a fantastic experience!
Since it debuted in theaters just before Thanksgiving, Evil it earned $571 million and is counting at the global box office. You can still see it in theaters for a while longer, in both sing-along and straight versions.
