Andrea Garfield he was originally supposed to take on the role of the Monster in Guillermo del Toroadaptation by Mary Shelley Frankensteinbut had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.

It was eventually replaced by Giacobbe Elordiand Garfield recently explained that while he’s disappointed he had to leave the film, he’s “very, very happy” that Elordi replaced him.

During an interview with Deadline, Garfield said, “I was just with Jacob Elordi, who ended up playing the character of The Creature, in Marrakech, so I felt how great and satisfying it was for him. So, I’m very, very happy that he was the one who did it.

He continued: “I am, of course, disappointed that I couldn’t do it because I love Guillermo and I love Oscar.” [Isaac] and all those he had gathered together.

“But meeting Jacob felt really serendipitous, so I could really see and feel that thing: ‘No, maybe he needed that experience more than me.’ It was great to hear that he had a lot of fun with that job.”

Oscar Isaac plays Dr. Frankenstein, who tampers with the natural order by transforming dead tissue into a new being, a monster played by Giacobbe Elordi.

The story follows Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but selfish scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the destruction of both the creator and his tragic creation.

It was previously revealed that “much of the film, including this laboratory scene, takes place inside the remains of once-grand structures.”

Del Toro states: “Gothic romanticism was born in part from a fascination with ruins. Sometimes they are more beautiful than the complete building because it is the clash between creation and destruction.”

Del Toro also said of the project: “It’s a film I’ve wanted to make for 50 years since I saw the first Frankenstein. I had an epiphany, and it’s basically a film that took a lot of growth and a lot of tools that I couldn’t have done 10 years ago. Now I’m brave enough or crazy enough or something, and we’ll deal with it.

Producer J. Miles Dale he went on to say that it will be a “deeply emotional” film, and added: “In the last two films, definitely with Alley of nightmares and then with Pinocchiowe dealt with the whole father-son relationship. And Guillermo and I have both lost our fathers in the last few years.

“When you have a strong father figure, it’s an important part of our lives. This version of Frankenstein a lot follows that thematic path. So, I think this is the third film in Guillermo’s father’s trilogy. It’s emotional, and when you read the script, it’s very emotional and, obviously, very iconic.”

The film is also the protagonist My Gothic AND Christoph Waltz.
