After Deadpool and Wolverine has become such a huge hit for Marvel Studios, that fans have been wondering when we might see these characters in action again. Make no mistake, we’ll see these two characters fight alongside each other again!
I think the next time we see these characters will be in Avengers: Judgment Dayas we know that many MCU characters will come together for that movie to fight against Doctor Doom.
When asked during a recent interview if fans could expect to see Deadpool and Wolverine Avengers: Judgment Day AND Avengers: Secret WarsReynolds played coy and said he had no update.
But he expressed his opinion on whether Deadpool should ever become an Avenger or an X-Man. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor said:
“There are no updates to share yet, but I have faith in Kevin and Lou D’Esposito [a filmmaker and Marvel executive producer] with my life. The thing I love most about Deadpool is that he’s a fanboy.
“His enthusiasm and desire to be part of a team really fascinates me. It’s his overall story of wish fulfillment. But I don’t think he should ever be an Avenger or an X-Man. If it becomes so, we are at the end.”
Later in the interview, Reynolds corrected the interviewer when asked if this meant Deadpool would not appear in an Avengers film, saying:
“Exactly the opposite! I think Deadpool works so well appearing with the X-Men and the Avengers, but he always needs to remain an outsider.”
Reynolds went on to talk about Deadpool’s desires and dreams, saying, “His ultimate dream is to be accepted and appreciated. But it cannot be accepted.
“His coping mechanism of deflecting shame through humor only works when used to cover up his many inadequacies.” Reynolds reiterated that Deadpool joining a team would mean “we’re at the end of his journey.”
Even though Reynolds knows Deadpool and Wolverine will appear in upcoming Avengers movies, he won’t say anything! It won’t ruin it for everyone. But it would be really cool to see Deadpool and Wolverine fight alongside a bunch of other MCU characters fighting Doctor Doom!
Avengers: Judgment Day its premiere in American theaters is scheduled for May 1, 2026 Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
