Rosario Dawson will be the protagonist of the next supernatural horror thriller Good ruthless luck. He will also produce the film adapted by the award-winning playwright Edwin Sanchez’s show of the same name.
In the film, Dawson will play Maritza Cruz, “a celebrity, high-powered lawyer caught up in a headline-grabbing case involving Fatima, a cunning young waitress accused of the serial poisoning and murder of 28 people.
“Fatima’s defense takes a darkly mysterious turn when she claims to have the psychic ability to see how someone will die when she touches them and reveals that she is killing people to prevent a ‘death worse than death.’”
Dawson said in a statement: “Good ruthless luck it’s one of those really rare projects that pulls you out of the gate and doesn’t let you go. It’s smart, scary, original and heartbreaking.
“It struck me from the beginning and I knew I had to get on board to produce it too because I simply couldn’t risk it never seeing the light of day because—it’s not that it doesn’t fit in a box—it just defies boxes.
Producer Tom De Santo added: “Good ruthless luck it’s one of those roller coasters that’s why people go to the movies. It drops the audience into a dark world they’ve never seen before SE7EN. With an ending that people will talk about for days, as iconic as “I See Dead People.” The sixth sense.”
Producer Corey Grande said: “It’s a mystery that will keep everyone guessing and will raise the bar for what audiences can expect from a thriller. I was fascinated by it the moment I read it and kept thinking about it afterward, and Rosario is the perfect person to bring it to life.”
