Here’s some wild and unexpected news I didn’t see coming! The bear star Jeremy Allen White will join the Star Wars universe and appear in Jon Favreau’S The Mandalorian and Grogu…as Jabba the Hutt’s son!
According to THR, White will provide the voice of the character, who will be called Rotta the Hutt. White had already teased his involvement, saying:
“I’m playing a role in The Mandalorian & Grogu [which will be directed by Jon Favreau]. I met Grogu for the first time the other day. I’m shooting it before I go to London for The Tempest at the end of the year.”
It joins Pedro Pasquale as Din Djarin, Sigourney Weaverand Grogu in the film.
Broken The Hutt made his animated debut in Star Wars: The Clone Wars film before appearing in numerous episodes of the TV series.
Rotta is a young Huttlet in The Clone Wars and is kidnapped as part of a plot to manipulate Jabba and disrupt the Republic’s alliances. His rescue becomes a vital mission for Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, to return him safely to his father.
He was also nicknamed “Stinky” by Ahsoka.
