Chilling trailer for Danny Boyle’s 28 YEARS LATER

Sony Pictures has released the first full trailer for Danny Boyle’S 28 years laterand it’s pretty chilling. The footage shows many people trying to avoid the locals infected with Rage, but the creepiest part of the trailer is a poem that is read.

That poem amplifies the intensity and chaos of the trailer and serves as a way to represent how much worse things have gotten on the British Isles since the events of the last film. The trailer gave me chills!

The synopsis reads: “’Time has healed nothing.’ Some time after the events of 28 Weeks Later, the Rage Virus has returned and a group of survivors must survive in a world ravaged by hordes of the infected.

“Shot on an iPhone 15 Pro Max with the help of numerous specialized accessories. Cilian Murphy returns as Jim, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Jack O’Connell, Erin KellymanAND Ralph Fiennes.”

This is the first of two films in the trilogy 28 years later, both have already been filmed. Boyle directed the first episode, while Nia Da Costa (Candyman, The Wonders) directed the second.

During an earlier interview, actor Ralph Fiennes shared details of the story, saying: “Britain has for 28 years been dealing with this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, angry human beings with few pockets of uninfected communities.

“And it’s about a boy who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother. He guides his mother through this beautiful territory of Northern England. But of course the infected are hiding around them in the forests, hills and woods.

“But find a doctor who is a man who we might think is going to be strange and strange, but is actually a force for good.”

Cilian Murphy reprises his role in 28 years later as Jim, a former cycle courier who previously awoke from a coma to discover the “rabies virus” that has decimated London. He is also an executive producer.

Alex Garland (28 days later) wrote 28 years laterand will be released in theaters on June 20, 2025 by Sony.
