A new teaser trailer has been released for the third and final season of the Marvel animated series What if…?which is described as “the epic new season to end it all”.
The teaser gives us a look at some of the more interesting stories explored in seasons one and two, and gives us a preview of some of the variations introduced this season, including Storm wielding Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, the return of Mysterio, and Red Guardian who reunite together with The Avengers.
We don’t know yet if What if…? will finally tie into the larger Multiverse saga with this final season, though it sounds like Marvel might want to do something to tease what’s to come in the highly anticipated Avengers: Judgment Day AND Avengers: Secret Wars.
“What if…? Season three feels like the completion of a trilogy,” Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television and animation at Marvel Studios, recently revealed.
“It takes us places you would never expect. It goes beyond the first two seasons in its exploration of the Multiverse and involves some really unexpected characters,” he teased. “It’s what I think is an extremely moving and fulfilling culmination for Uatu, The Watcher.”
