Paramount+ has released a new trailer for Michelle Yeoh’S Star Trek: Section 31 and that puts the emphasis on the action and the ragtag crew that will help Phillippa Georgiou on her journey.
This Star Trek the project looks very different from others we’ve seen previously in the franchise. The energy is different and it seems like the creative team was inspired The Guardians of the Galaxy movie. In fact, one of the actors on the series described what it was like Guardians of the Galaxy on steroids.
The film focuses on the Mirror Universe’s version Michelle YeohThe character of Emperor Philippa Georgiou who joins a secret division of Starfleet. Charged with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she must also confront the sins of her past.
In the film, “Emperor Philippa Georgiou, joins a secret Starfleet division tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets and faces the sins of her past.” Yeoh will reprise her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou Star Trek: Discoveryand filming will take place from January 29th to the end of March.
THE Star Trek the film is also the protagonist Omari Hardwick (Energy), Kacey Rahl (Hannibal), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One piece), Roberto Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny and Georgia) AND James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry).
Yeoh previously said of the film: “I’m more than excited to get back to mine Star Trek family and the role I have loved for so long. Section 31 has been near and dear to my heart since I began the journey of playing Philippa since this new golden age Star Trek launched.
“Seeing her finally reach her moment is a dream come true in a year that has shown me the incredible power of never giving up on your dreams. We look forward to sharing with you what’s in store for you, and until then: live long and prosper (unless Emperor Georgiou decrees otherwise)!”
Craig Sweeny wrote the screenplay for Star Trek: Section 31 AND Olatunde Osunsanmi he is directing the film.
