When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do at Disneyland was watch Michael Jacksonthe movie in 3D Captain EO. I loved that damn movie!
Well, while I was rewatching Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew with my daughter, I noticed something I hadn’t noticed the first time, and as soon as I saw it, I went online to see if anyone else had noticed to confirm what I had seen.
I found it, yes! It was exactly what I thought it was and connects Captain EO to the Star Wars universe!
In episode 2 of Skeleton crewthe children find themselves in a place frequented by pirates and while exploring the place, one of the children discovers a stall selling various exotic creatures in cages.
One of the creatures is the same species as Captain EO’s Fuzzball! This is the little flying alien that is part of Captain EO’s crew!
George Lucas he’s a co-writer and producer on Captain EO, so that wouldn’t be out of the question Captain EO it could be set in a different corner of the Star Wars universe.
Or, the creators of Skelton Crew I just threw the fluff ball out as an Easter egg for fans like me to discover and there’s nothing more to it than that. Anyway, it’s pretty cool that they included the creature! Personally I would like to think that they are part of the same universe.
I’ve included a video below for you showing footage of the fuzzball from Skeleton crew.
