DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN is set five years after the events of the Netflix series

Daredevil: Born Again actor Wilson Bethelwho plays Bullseye/Benjamin Poindexter, confirmed when exactly the new series will take place in the MCU timeline.

During a panel at the Fan Expo in San Francisco over the weekend, the actor revealed Daredevil: Born Again is set five years after the events of the Netflix original series.

He explained that it was natural to do so, as he and his co-stars are all… visibly older than when we last saw them as their leads. Reckless characters in 2018.

He said: “Maybe it’s different in a sitcom or something. But if you’re on a show for a period of time and the characters age together in real time, and if the show is well written and the writers kind of respond to that reality that transpires – the wrinkles in their hair, etc. – then in theory, the character is evolving in some way, regardless of whether the show was on the air or not.

Bethel continued: “These are characters who have lived through five years of life and all the twists and turns that happen in between.

“So whether those stories are on screen or not, there’s always that little bit of extra life in there, which I think, as an actor, gives you the opportunity to carry forward whatever your journey was in that moment. They get a little longer in the tooth.”

So with this information, it looks like the story of Daredevil: Born Again occurs around the same time as WandaVision AND Loki.

On Marvel Television Daredevil: Born Again“Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with high skills, is fighting for justice through his lively law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincenzo D’Onofrio) pursues its political endeavors in New York. As their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”

Cox previously spoke about the tone of the series, saying: “We continue the darkness of the first series on Netflix. It’s going to be so dark and so intense. We worked hard to make it that way. So, we’re excited about that.

“For me, the most important question I get asked is: will it be as dark as the original series? And the answer is a definitive yes. It’s dark. It’s crazy. We do some things that are definitely firsts for Disney+.”

Producer Brad Winderbaum he previously teased some of the action in the series, saying: “I will tell you that some of the most brutal action we have ever brought to the screen is coming Daredevil: Born Againwhich isn’t a horror show, but it actually packs a lot of power and there’s a lot of visceral action, to say the least.

He went on to tease how things have changed, saying: “These characters have matured, the universe is different than it was. Things have changed, society has changed. Matt and Wilson have changed.

“And their characters will collide in ways we’ve never seen before. It’s no longer enough to try to kill each other. There is a whole political game at stake.”

Daredevil: Born Again is currently under development by the administrators Justin Benson AND Aaron Moorheadwho worked on both Knight of the Moon AND Loki.

The series is also the protagonist Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, e Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna-Fisk.

It’s also in the cast Margherita Levieva, Michele Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Jeremy Conteand more.

Daredevil: Born Again will arrive on Disney+ on March 4, 2025.
