Netflix has released the trailer for a biblical film titled Marywhich is another film that will tell the story of the birth of Jesus.
Mary was directed by DJ Caruso (Disturbia, Eagle Eye, I Am Number Four, Redemptive Love), and tells the story through the eyes of Mary, played by Noah Cohen (Infinity, 8200). Anthony Hopkins he also stars in the film as King Herod.
The synopsis reads: “Through the eyes of Mary, this coming-of-age biblical epic is the story of one of history’s most profound figures and the extraordinary journey that led to the birth of Jesus.
“Chosen to give birth to the Messiah, Mary is shunned following a miraculous conception and forced to hide.
“When King Herod orders a murderous hunt for his newborn baby, Mary and Joseph (Ido Tako), flees – bound by faith and driven by courage – to save his life at all costs”.
The ensemble cast also includes Stefania Nur, Susan Brown, Ori Pfeffer, Eamon Farren, Hilla Vidor, Mili Avital, Gudmundur Thorvaldsson, Dudley O’ShaughnessyAND Keren Tzur.
The film will be released on Netflix on December 6, 2024. It looks like it could be a decent film.
