SCOTT PILGRIM TAKES OFF Creator hints at potential Scott Pilgrim spin-offs

Last week we learned that Netflix would not be pursuing a second season Scott Pilgrim takes off anime series. Now, apparently there were no plans for a second season anyway, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see any more projects set in the world of Scott Pellegrino.

Ben David Grabinskiwith whom he worked Scott Pellegrino Creator Bryan Lee O’Malley in the series’ development, he recently explained that while season 2 was never the plan, he’s not done playing in the Scott Pilgrim sandbox and hints that something else could happen.

He said: “I just want to clarify that I never intended to do a second season of SCOTT PILGRIM TAKES OFF and also had no ideas for one. But I’m sure I’m not done with the world of SP. I’m only saying this because I keep seeing ‘cancellation’ stories.”

It seems like he knows something the rest of us don’t about the future of the Scott Pilgrim franchise. Who knows, maybe there’s a spin-off project in development.

O’Malley shared the news of the cancellation on, saying: “It’s been a year since then Scott Pilgrim takes off he came out. It was an honor to work with all the cast and crew from around the world. It was like conducting a symphony orchestra every day.

“From now on [series writer BenDavid Granbinski] brought the idea to life, the project seemed like a one-of-a-kind miracle. However, we were recently informed that the show will NOT be returning.”

“As you know, we only intended to make one season and we called in a lot of favors to make it happen, so making more would have been almost impossible. However, I know that some of you have had hope.

One of the things they did Scott Pilgrim takes off special was that the entire cast of the film returned to reprise their roles, including Michele Cera as Scott Pilgrim, Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the role of Ramona Fiori, Satya Bhabha as Matthew Patel, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Brie Larson in the role of Invidia Adams, Alison Pill as Kim Pine, Aubrey Square as Julie Powers, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Jason Schwartzmann as Gideon Graves, Johnny Simmons in the role of the “young” Neil Nordegraf, Marco Webber as Stephen Stills, Mae Whitman as Roxie Richter and Ellen Wong as Knives Chau.

Would you like to see the world of Scott Pilgrim explored more in a spin-off show? Which characters would you like to see it focus on?
