Here’s the trailer for an upcoming Popeye horror movie titled Popeye the killer manwhich will explore an alternate backstory for the iconic cartoon sailor.
In Popeye the killer man“a group of friends sneak into an abandoned spinach canning factory to film a documentary about the legend of the “Sailor Man,” who is said to haunt the factory.”
“We can’t wait for audiences to enjoy this gory and scary version of Popeye,” teases producer Jeff Miller. “We went old school and focused on using real practical effects, without relying on CG for blood. We are talking to very enthusiastic and interested buyers.”
Jason Stephens takes on the role of the assassin Popeye. Robert Michael Ryan (Ouija witch) directs the film from a screenplay by John Doolan (Remains).
Popeye the killer man even stars Sean Michael Conway, Elena Juliano, Mabel Thomas, Marie-Louise Boisnier, Jeff Thomas, Steven McCormack, Angela Relucio (Code Black, The Cabining), AND Sarah Nicklin (Nun of That, The Black Mass).
