Kevin Feige recently offered an update on the production of the Matt Shakman-direct Fantastic Four: First Stepsand also confirmed that all the characters from the film will be present in the “upcoming Avengers films”.
Feige said at the Disney APAC Content Showcase: “Ultimately, [we’re] bringing Marvel’s First Family into the MCU. They’ll wrap up next week, the movie comes out next summer, and then all those characters will go straight into the next Avengers movies, so I’m very excited for the future of the Fantastic Four.
It’s good to know that these characters will have an important role to play in the future of the MCU. It was previously teased at last summer’s Comic-Con that core members of both the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts would be part of the cast of both. Avengers: Judgment Day AND Avengers: Secret Wars.
Robert Downey Jr. he will also have a major role in these films as he will play the evil villain Doctor Doom, who is the archenemy of Reed Richards.
Fantastic Four: First Steps is “set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ introduces Marvel’s First Family: Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pasquale), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face the toughest challenge they’ve ever faced.
“Forced to balance their role as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Giulia Garner). And as if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and all its inhabitants wasn’t terrible enough, it suddenly becomes very personal.”
The film is scheduled to be released on July 25, 2025. As for Avengers: Judgment Daywill be released in theaters on May 1, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars it will follow one year later, on May 7, 2027.
Avengers: Endgame directors Joe AND Antonio Russo he will return to direct both projects.
