The PAC-MAN episode of the animated series SECRET LEVEL is “the bloodiest episode ever”

Some fun new information has emerged Tim Millerthe upcoming adult-themed video game anthology series Secret level. The series explores original stories set in the worlds of some of the most beloved video games.

One of these stories is set in the world of the classic game Pac-Manbut this will be a much darker vision than anything we’ve ever seen before. In fact, ghosts have been reinvented as flesh-eating monsters!

Miller joked: “When I pitch it to people, I say, ‘It’s actually our bloodiest episode ever. And they’re like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t wait.’”

Series writer JT Petty explained in an interview with EW: “We spent a lot of time trying to respect the whole 50-year history with Pac-Man and made a lot of cute retro style cartoons Pac-Man S-. Ultimately, Dave and I thought, we just need to do the John Melius version of this. What is Pac-Man Blood Meridian?”

In the story, “a man (voiced by Alex Le) wakes up from sleep, suspended inside a tub of water. He has no memory of who he is or how he got there. Over email, Le compares this character to “an infant conceptually but with the motor functions and abilities of an adult.”

“All this character knows is that there’s some kind of spherical android floating in front of him (voiced by The Mandalorian‘S Emily Swallow). Puck, named after Pac-Man’s original nickname Puck-Man, claims to be “the Chosen One”, someone destined to escape the maze he is currently trapped in.

“Whether Puck can really be trusted or whether there is something more to this reality is a different question. Puck guides the man to a sword, which he uses to cut through the jungles and arid deserts of this world to find an escape route.

So it will be fun! The Pac-Man episode was teased in the latest trailer released, but we also have new images to see above and below.

The series comes from Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio, creators of Love, Death + Robotand includes 15 jaw-dropping episodes and groundbreaking animation.

Here is the list of games that inspired the 15 epic stories in the series: Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, PAC-MAN, PlayStation (featured various entities beloved by PlayStation Studios), Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal TournamentAND Warhammer 40,000.

The voice cast includes Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator), Kevin Hart (Jumanji), Keanu Reeves (John Wick), Gabriele Luna (The Last of Us, Terminator: Dark Fate), Temuera Morrison (The book of Boba Fett, war leader) AND Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie).

Other cast members include Patrick Schwarzenegger (The White Lotus), Paradise Hart, Emily Swallow (The Mandalorian), Ricky Whittle (American gods, land of evil), Merle Dandridge (The last of us), Claudia Doumit (The boys), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost, The Union), Clive Standen (Vikings, the morning show), Laura Bailey (The Legend of Vox Machina), AND Michele Spiaggia (King of Tulsa).

Secret level will be available exclusively on Prime Video from December 10th.
