James Gunn’s new DCU will begin with the release of Commando of creatures animated series, which looks like an insanely fun and crazy show!
We know that many of the characters introduced in this series will eventually find their way into live-action DCU projects, and that those characters will be played by the actors who voiced them.
Now, Gunn is saying that the animated series could lead to a full-length Creature Commandos feature film. Speaking to Collider in an interview, the director said:
“We might decide we want to do something different with Creature Commandos. We might want to go off and make the Creature Commandos movie. I just know I’d like to get some of the same people involved, like Dean [Loren].”
He added: “I haven’t had many situations where I’ve managed to write something, give it to some people, and then they bring back this beautiful work, where I’m like ‘Oh shit! The voice cast includes Davide Porto as Eric Frankenstein, Sean Gunn as Weasel and GI Robot, Franco Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova in the role of Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma in the role of the Bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, with Steve Agee reprising his role as John Economos from Peacemaker.
Commando of creatures will premiere on Max on December 5, 2024.
