Stephen King’s next horror novel has been announced! It’s titled Never flinch and we have some details to share with you thanks to Entertainment Weekly.
The book is said to contain “intertwining plots: one about an assassin on a diabolical revenge mission and another about a vigilante stalking a feminist celebrity.”
It was also revealed that King’s frequent character Holly Gibney will return for this new story. The character previously appeared in Mister Mercedes, The seekers, the keepers, End of surveillanceand later appears as one of the major supporting characters in The Stranger.
Here’s the book’s synopsis: “When the Buckeye City Police Department receives a disturbing letter from a person threatening to ‘kill thirteen innocents and one guilty man’ in ‘an act of atonement for the needless death of an innocent man,’ the Detective Izzy Jaynes has no idea what to think. Fourteen citizens are about to be massacred in a wanton act of revenge.
“As the investigation continues, Izzy realizes that whoever wrote the letter is deadly serious and turns to her friend Holly Gibney for help.
“Meanwhile, controversial and outspoken women’s rights activist Kate McKay is embarking on a multi-state speaking tour, drawing packed venues with fans and detractors. Someone who vehemently opposes Kate’s message of female empowerment is targeting her and disrupting her events.
“At first no one gets hurt, but the stalker becomes increasingly bold and Holly is hired as Kate’s bodyguard: a challenging task with a stubborn employer and a determined adversary, driven by anger and faith in his own righteousness.”
King’s Never Flinch will be released on May 27, 2025.
