Sebastiano Stanwho plays Bucky Barnes in the MCU, recently appeared at Liverpool Comic-Con in the UK and shared some ideas he has for further exploring his character.
When asked which MCU films he would like to make prequels to, Stan said; “We could probably do a prequel before Captain America: The First Avenger, so we could actually learn more about their friendship. Their relationship, you know.”
He added: “Or we can even do a prequel to before Captain America: The Winter Soldier where we’re actually seeing what happened with him. We never really explore it.
“We always see him towards the end of his Winter Soldier arc. But when she had this other double life, you know, where, I don’t know, she taught Black Widow how to be Black Widow.”
Stan also said he would like to see Steve Rogers return to the MCU, saying, “Steve Rogers should come back. I think it would be fun. Who else? Natasha, obviously, there’s like 27 movies with Natasha that haven’t been seen yet.” It hasn’t been done yet and that’s why I keep pushing.”
Stan’s next big Marvel movie will be Lightning*which will see Bucky team up with a ragtag group of misfits, including Florence Pugh in the role of Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as a US agent, Davide Porto in the role of the Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen in the role of Ghost, Lewis Pullman like The Sentinel, e Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.
Lightning* will be released in theaters on May 2, 2025.
