Here’s some wacky stuff John Wick trivia about the film that was recently revealed by the co-director of the action film David Leitch. Another big action star had been tapped to take on the lead role before Keanu Reeves came on board.
During an interview with THR on the film’s 10th anniversary, Leitch revealed that when he was first asked to work on the film’s second unit, Bruce Willis “He may have been attacked at that time.”
This makes sense because the original version of the film was developed by the producers Basil Iwanyk AND Peter Lawsonthey were considering an actor in his fifties like Willis instead of someone like Reeves.
Even though Reeves was the smarter choice for the role of Wick, I can imagine Willis in the movie and I bet he would have been great. It’s interesting to think about what that version of the film might have been like.
If that had happened, though, the studio would have followed through with its original plans, directors Chad Stahelski and Leitch would probably never have had the opportunity to make the film.
In the end, everything worked out great for the franchise. Reeves was perfect for the role, and in the end it was exactly what it should have been and the franchise continues to do amazing!
It’s pretty funny, not long after the release of John Wick, Briuce Willis starred in a movie called Once Upon a Time in Venice, and in that movie, Willis plays a private investigator whose dog gets kidnapped by a notorious gang , and has to fight to get his dog back.
That film, however, didn’t turn out to be very good.
