Warner Bros. has announced that they are pushing back the director’s release date Bong Joon-ho (Parasite) AND Robert Pattinsonthe sci-fi comedy Mickey 17.
The high-concept film was originally scheduled for release on January 31, 2025, but will now hit theaters on April 18. The studio will have all the IMAX screens around the world for the film.
This is a movie I was excited to watch. It looks like it will take audiences on a wild and fun ride!
A Warner Bros. spokesperson said: “When the April 18 date became available, we moved quickly to secure it for Mickey Mouse 17. We are excited about the new date and very happy that the film will be available to the public in Imax.
“With January 31st now available in a full Imax footprint, we are also very happy to have it Company releasing on this new date.
Company is a new horror film from New Line Cinema directed by Drew Hancock. Movie stars Sophie Thatcher AND Jack Quaid and it looks like a crazy movie.
In Mickey Mouse 17The unlikely hero, Mickey Barnes (Pattinson) has found himself in the extraordinary circumstance of working for an employer who demands maximum commitment to the job… to die, to live.
The film is an adaptation of Edward Ashtonit’s the novel, Mickey Mouse7and the film is also the protagonist Tonini Collette, Marco Ruffalo, Steven Yeun, AND Naomi Ackie.
The book description reads: “The Martian meets dark matter in Edward Ashton’s sci-fi thriller, in which Mickey7, an ‘expendable,’ refuses to let his replacement clone Mickey8 take his place.
“Dying is no fun at all… but at least it’s living.
“Mickey7 is an Expendable: a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the frozen world of Niflheim. Whenever a mission is too dangerous, even suicidal, the crew turns to Mickey.
“After the death of an iteration, a new body is regenerated with most of its memories intact. After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal… and why it was the only colonial position vacant when he took it.
“During a routine scouting mission, Mickey7 disappears and is presumed dead. When he returns to the colony base, surprisingly aided by native life, Mickey7’s fate has been sealed.
“There’s a new clone, Mickey8, reporting for expendable duties. The idea of duplicating consumer goods is universally loathed and, if caught, will likely be thrown into the protein recycler.
“Mickey7 must keep his double a secret from the rest of the colony. Meanwhile, life in Niflheim is getting worse. The atmosphere is unsuitable for humans, food is scarce, and terraforming is going badly.
“Native species are becoming curious about their new neighbors, and this curiosity is very scary to Commander Marshall. Ultimately, the survival of both life forms will depend on Mickey7.
“That is, if he can avoid dying forever.”
