Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) AND Betty Gabriele (Go out) will be the protagonists of the next zombie horror thriller, Twilight of the Dead.
The film is directed by the director behind it Session 9, The callAND The train driver, Brad Anderson. THE George A. Romero Summer is also involved in the project, and it will be the “seventh and final episode” of the seminal Living dead franchising.
Romero had written a screenplay for the film before he died in 2017, and he considered it Twilight of the Dead as the conclusion of his epic saga, which included six films and various spin-offs and remakes.
The story is set on a tropical island and will “delve into the dark nature of humanity from the perspective of the last humans on earth who are caught between factions of the undead.”
The film is also described as a “thought-provoking sociopolitical commentary wrapped up in a genre piece.”
Anderson explained in a statement: “I see this film in the same way as successful post-apocalyptic thrillers like I am legend, A quiet place, The road AND The last of us – genre stories that are as emotional as they are intense.
“When I first read Twilight of the DeadI cried at the end. Which is strange for a film of this type. But it has that kind of pull, that combination of horror and heartbreak that I love.
Suzanne Desrocher-RomeroRomero’s widow and founder of the George A. Romero Foundation, added: “It gives me great pleasure to work with my partners at Roundtable to finally introduce fans to the latest chapter in George A. Romero’s The Dead canon. It’s what fans have been wanting and with Brad Anderson at the helm it’s going to be sensational.”
Round table entertainment Sarah Donnelly said: “We are thrilled to share Milla Jovovich’s return to the zombie genre in this fresh and original way with Twilight of the Dead. With Brad’s masterful and visionary direction and Milla’s unique ability to command the screen as a true action star with emotional depth and resilience, there is no doubt that this film will be a gripping and compelling film in the genre.
Makeup effects designer Greg Nicotero (The walking dead) and his team KNB EFX will create and lead the makeup effects. Nicotero began his career with Romero’s 1985 sequel Day of the Dead.
Although this is said to be the final film in Romero’s zombie saga, according to the report, “the team behind the project previously told us that they had not closed the door on the possibility of additional films in a new saga, if this should happen.” you’re fine.”
