Saturday night live AND Elf actor Will Ferrell will star in a new comedy for 20th Century Studios titled Street justice. He will also produce the film, in which Ferrell plays the Dirty Harry guy trying to take justice into his own hands.
The film is based on an original idea by Dave Callahamand will be directed by Peter Attentiona comedy veteran currently working on Legendary’s upcoming live-action/animation hybrid Animal friends.
Callaham, the writer behind it Shang Chi and Oscar nominee Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versehe wrote the script on spec — selling it for a hefty seven-figure deal, according to our sources — and will serve as executive producer.
Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum will produce for Gloria Sanchez Productions, with David Koplan also producing.
He comes out of roles in comedies like the Oscar-winning one Barbie, Strays and Emmy-winning TV movie Quiz ladyFerrell will soon be seen starring alongside her Reese Witherspoon in Nick Stoller’s wedding comedy You are cordially invitedwhich debuts on Prime Video on January 30th.
The Netflix comedy series is also coming Golfwith whom he co-created Ramy Youssef AND Josh Rabinowitz and stars in front of the first. Netflix document Will and Harperof which he is a producer and co-subject, has been nominated for a Cinema Eye Honors Award and four Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards since its debut in September.
