The Harry Potter spin-off films in Fantastic animals the franchise appears to have come to an end. The first film, released in 2016, was a huge success with both fans and the box office.
The first sequel was released in 2018 and didn’t do as well, but it was enough to keep the franchise going. But the final film of the trilogy, Dumbledore’s Secretsit was a sharp decline in box office numbers, which forced Warner Bros. to withdraw from the title.
So it’s no surprise that the star of the film Eddie Redmayne basically confirmed that he probably won’t return to reprise his role as Newt Scamander. During a recent interview with ComicBook, the actor stated:
“I think they probably did [seen the last of Newt]. It was a very sincere answer, but yes. And that’s as far as I know.
I mean, you’d have to talk to the people at Warner Bros. and JK Rowling, but as far as I know, that’s it.
I think he might pop back into the Universal world in Florida that they’re opening, where you might get a glimpse of what he was doing in Paris.”
It’s a nice preview for the world of Harry Potter inside Universal Florida. Maybe whatever they have planned will give fans some closure on their favorite Fantastic Beasts characters and storylines.
And if you’re hungry for more Harry Potter content, we have the next HBO show to look forward to that will delve even deeper into each book in the series. This will be headed our way in 2026.
