Nicholas Hoult teases role as Lex Luthor in SUPERMAN: “Hopefully we did something special”

There are less than nine months until the release of James Gunnthe highly anticipated DC kickoff, Supermanwhere we will see his interpretation of the classic comic book character, as well as the evil Lex Luthor.

The super villain is played by Nicola Houltand recently caught up with Deadline at AFI Fest, where he talked about the film and the role, saying, “I’m a fan of Superman and Lex Luthor as a character, so hopefully we’ve done something special with it” people enjoy it. ”

Hoult also praised Gunn, saying, “I loved working with James Gunn. I think he’s an incredible director and has a great sense of that world, that story, those characters. I simply put my trust in him.”

Hoult is joined in the film by David Corenswet in the lead role of Clark Kent/Superman; Rachel Brosnahan as Kent’s love interest Lois Lane; Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern; Isabela Mercede as Hawkgirl; Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific; Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen; María Gabriela de Faría in the role of Angela Spica, aka The Engineer; Sara Sampaioas Eva Teschmacher; AND Terence Rosemore as Otis.

Filming for Superman concluded in July of this year with Gunn expressing his gratitude, saying, “God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity and hard work brought this project to life.”

Gunn added: “I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that’s not always so great. And the goodness, kindness and love I encountered daily on set inspired me and pushed me forward when I felt too exhausted to move on my own. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It was an honor.”

Superman will launch the cinematic portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
