FilmNation Entertainment is looking to take on an action franchise with a film project titled Painterand they launched Alan Ritchson (Reacher) AND Amber Halftone (Prey, Legion) to star in the film.
The screenplay by Painter was written by Derek Kolstad (John Wick), and will be directed by Logan, Avatars AND Street house stunt coordinator Garrett Warren.
Painter “centers on a young woman, trained from a young age, who must use every skill in her arsenal to save her father after he is kidnapped.”
Drew Simon, president of manufacturing at Infrared, said in a statement: “Painter will be a seminal action hero film, transforming Midthunder into this generation’s Sarah Connor (Terminator).
“We loved Kolstad’s fast-paced script and know that, with Garrett Warren at the helm, this film will kick off an exciting new action franchise.”
Ritchson is also one of the film’s producers Simone designed (Infrared), Kolstad, Josh Adler (Circle of confusion), AND Dan Spilo.
