THE Happy Death Day the movies were a lot of fun to watch and the fans were eager to see Christopher Landon will be able to make his third film in the series.
During a recent interview with CB, the director offered an update on the film, saying, “I could say I’ve written a treatment. I didn’t write the script, because I wouldn’t write a script unless it was a sure thing.
He went on to share some details about the setting, saying, “Here’s the nice thing: It’s a bigger movie and it’s not set on the same day as the previous two movies. This is the biggest spoiler I put out there.
Jessica Rothe she previously said that she is confident that one day we will see the third one become a film and the producer Jason Blum he said he’s “working overtime” to get the next sequel into development.
The director had previously revealed that the working title of Happy death 3 AND Happy Death Day to usand shared some additional information:
“It’s definitely out of place at the moment. I wish it wasn’t, and I know it [Jason Blum, producer] he’s passionate about it, I know I’m very passionate about it, and I know Jessica Rothe is really keen to do it too.
“I wrote the idea for the third film some time ago. I think we’re all excited about it, because it’s different from the other two movies, so fingers crossed and hopefully our fan base continues to grow, which is something I really enjoyed watching throughout the movie. years, seeing more and more people discover both films.
“So who knows. There may be a time when it makes sense, and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.”
He then went on to offer some story details, saying, “The idea for the third movie is not set on the same day, if that’s a big spoiler. So it can happen later. We’re not facing a really difficult watch right now.
“The other films were difficult, because they were set on the exact same day, so everyone had to look the same, be the same. The pressure is off there.”
The story of the first two films featured Rothe as Theresa “Tree” Gelbman, a college student who finds herself trapped in a nightmare time loop similar to Groundhog Day. There’s also a killer on the loose trying to kill her in that time loop.
The second movie then went on and introduced alternate dimensions as well as other fun and weird stuff. I like that they will move the story further down the road.
This is a project that’s obviously not a big priority for Blumhouse right now, but it could get made at some point.
