Alien: Romulus is about to come out on VHS! 20th Century Studios announced that the recent film in Alien The sci-fi horror franchise will be released on limited edition VHS on December 3rd.
The special VHS is described as “a movie collector’s dream,” and will be a fully functional tape that you can pop into a VHS player and watch…. if you have one.
The VHS was created to celebrate the Alien 45th anniversary of the franchise. The VHS cover was created by the artist Matt Fergusonwho is also the artist behind the film’s posters.
This Alien: Romulus The VHS release is the first such release from a major studio since 2006. This is pretty cool for those who collect VHS tapes and other physical media, which are dying out.
Alien: RomulusThe VHS release coincides with other physical releases of the film, including Steelbook Blu-ray, standard 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD options.
Alien: Romulus is now available digitally with upcoming digital releases and Blu-ray and DVD releases containing exclusive bonus content, including featurettes with filmmakers Fede Alvarez AND Ridley Scott as well as behind-the-scenes content and alternate and extended scenes.
It doesn’t look like the VHS will have bonus features. There are currently no details on how many copies will be available or how much they will cost.
