A24 has released the first trailer for Adrian Brodythe next movie The brutalistwhich is about a brilliant architect who emerges from the Holocaust during World War II and moves to America.
In the film, “Escaping post-war Europe, visionary architect László Toth comes to America to rebuild his life, his work, and his marriage to his wife Erzsébet after being forced apart during the war by shifting borders and regimes.
“Alone in a strange new country, László settles in Pennsylvania, where the wealthy and prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren recognizes his talent for building. But power and legacy come at a high price…”
The brutalist was directed by Brady Corbet (The childhood of a leader AND Vox Lux) and is also the protagonist Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Emma Lairdwith Isaach De BankoleAND Alessandro Nivola.
The film has received great reviews, so it looks to be a film worth checking out when it comes out.
The film premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival where it won the award for best director. A24 will debut the film in select US theaters, including 70mm screening, starting December 20, 2024.
