Last week at new trailer was released by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse The Wolf Man and offered our first brief glimpse of the creature in nightmarish action.
The werewolf creature design looked exactly like the one revealed at Halloween Horror Nights, the one that received mixed reactions from horror fans, as it’s not the type of creature design people were expecting.
While at New York Comic-Con, director Leigh Whannell talked about the design of the creature and in the meantime announced the reveal of Halloween Horror Nights by saying that it was the “Spirit Halloween” version.
He told CB: “First of all, we have Arjen Tuiten doing the makeup and he’s a genius, the level of makeup he can do. It’s kind of like, without spoiling anything, it’s like comparing a Spirit Halloween costume to Rick Baker’s makeup.
“There is a certain level of enlightenment and artistry. I can tell you for sure that the Halloween Horror Nights Wolfman they had around isn’t very similar to what we’re doing.
Christopher Abbott (Poor things, it arrives at night) plays Blake, a husband and father from San Francisco, “who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his father disappears and is presumed dead.
“With his marriage to his powerful wife, Charlotte (Giulia Garner; Ozark, Inventing Anna), worn out, Blake convinces Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger (Matlida Firth; Hullraisers, Coma).
“But as the family approaches the farm in the dead of night, they are attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, they barricade themselves inside the house as the creature prowls the perimeter.
“As the night wears on, however, Blake begins to act strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable, and Charlotte will be forced to decide whether the terror inside their home is deadlier than the danger outside.”
The film is scheduled for release in January 2025.
