Venom: The Last Dance will introduce Marvel villain Knull to the big screen, and it looks like Sony Pictures has plans for him in the future.
During a recent interview with IGN, writer and director Kelly Marcel offered some insight into the character and teased that the Venom sequel is just the beginning for the character. He explained that “A movie could never do Knull justice.”
Marcel then revealed: “We were always aware of Knull, but we knew we had to lay the foundations of the character of Venom and his relationship with Eddie before introducing him. This is just the beginning for Knull.”
He continued: “We’re in spoiler territory now and hopefully part of the fun of watching this movie is not knowing what’s going to happen, but believe me, we know damn well how important Knull is to fans, so just like we said a basis for Venom, hopefully to do the same for Knull is too powerful for one thing.”
“This film introduces Knull, but only touches on the beginning of his story. Marvel’s greatest cinematic villains are developed over time. Here, Knull is the threat lurking behind the danger that tests the absolute limits of Eddie and Venom’s partnership, but it’s their relationship that remains the heart of this story.
So, it seems Venom: The Last Dance it will create a future for Knull, but we don’t know for sure what that future will entail. There have been reports that Knull will be the main villain Spider-Man 4but there is no confirmation of this.
This has also been reported Andy Serkis will play Knull, and “is expected to reprise the role in future Sony/Marvel projects, meaning we could see a lot more of Knull.” But again, this has not been confirmed.
Poison: The Last dance is being marketed as the final film in the franchise, but Sony is obviously looking to continue expanding the franchise without it Tom Hardyit’s poison. It will be interesting to see what this all translates into.
In The last dance“Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film of the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo is forced to make a devastating decision that will bring the curtain down on Venom and Eddie’s final dance.
