A24 has released a trailer for a magical new fantasy adventure film The legend of Ochi. The film centers on a young girl who lives on a mysterious island and befriends a small creature known as Ochi as they go on a journey into the desert.
The synopsis reads: “In a remote northern village, a young girl, Yuri, is trained to never go out after dark and to fear the solitary forest creatures known as geese.
“When a baby goose is abandoned by his pack, he embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to reunite him with his family.” We also learn that the young woman “unravels the mysteries of animal communication.”
This looks like a great movie that tells a great and fun adventure story that the whole family can enjoy. I like films like this that convey a sense of awe and wonder and show great imagination.
It comes from Isaiah Sassonewho is making his directorial debut. The film is the protagonist Elena Zengel (System crash, News from the world), Finn Wolfhard, Emily WatsonAND Willem Dafoe.
The legend of Ochi will be released in US theaters on February 28, 2025. I’m excited to watch this movie!
