Things are looking up for Marvel, with the reboot of Fantastic Four: First Stepsas well as Avengers: Judgment Day AND Avengers: Secret Warswhich will see the return of Russo BrothersAND Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. There are a lot of cool things in the works and rumors are flying around, but today we have some new ones that sound pretty interesting.

According to Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, the plan is for both upcoming Avengers films to feature secondary villains replacing the Council of Kangs (original plans are said to have featured multiple teams of heroes to battle the likes of Rama-Tut, Scarlet Witch Centurion and Immortus). The site doesn’t know for sure who they will be and suggests that we could see a Multiversal Masters of Evil.

Perez adds that the Multiverse will exist once the saga is over and reiterates that we will have a “gradual reboot” only after Avengers: Secret Wars.

It also compares the dynamic of Reed Richards and Doctor Doom in the next film Avengers films about Tony Stark and Thanos Avengers: Infinity War AND Avengers: Endgame. Speaking of exciting encounters, it looks like Thor and Sylvie will soon be sharing the screen too.

Captain Marvel is described as “one of the main characters of the [Avengers: Doomsday]”, with Perez adding that “He’ll be one of the main Avengers in these films.” As for Sam Wilson/Captain America, he’s set to “co-lead the team.”

Other Avengers-related information includes Marvel Studios’ plan to “use Hugh Jackmann [as Wolverine] as long as possible.” There is also the claim that while we will see Ant-Man in these films, Namor is currently “TBD”.

Perez concludes by saying this about the 2025 MCU releases: “I’m very excited because it will contain some of the most important storylines that will lay the foundation for Doomsday and Secret Wars.”

It will be interesting to see how Marvel transitions from the groundwork laid for Kang to reconfiguring Doctor Doom as a villain equal to Thanos.

Avengers: Judgment Day will be released in May 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars expected arrival in May 2027.
